A normal day in Benenden…

Today is a “normal Benenden day” for everyone. But you would be quite wrong to believe that this means boring. English lessons start at 8.15 am. The sudents of the 1st, 2nd and 3rd years have 4 lesson periods while the students of the 4th to 7th years have 5 periods a day. The workshops and activities begin after lunch. Our activity and arts room contains a huge amount of material for athletic and creative activities and the grounds of Benenden School are perfect for such activities. You can view the detailed programme of the day on our homepage under “Benenden diary 2014-Daily Update”.

Our activity team does a great job and is strongly supported by the teachers: flag football, rugby, Irish dance, slacklining, English cooking, circus skills, capture the flag, garage band, music and body sound, cricket, lacrosse, splash games, stage design and much more. In the evening there is an “opening ceremony” where all of the team is introduced on stage and then, after that, things get really loud for the first time as our DJ Steve makes the house shake in the assembly hall. The children learn the Benenden dance and enjoy their first Benenden party – there is no more denying that everyone has really arrived at Benenden now! ;)
