No time to waste at Benenden…

18 days of highschool life – there is no time to waste. All the students gather punctually at 8.30 am in the assembly hall. After the students have been assigned to their groups and classes, the first ENGLISH LESSONS and BRIEFINGS start. After lunch it is time for the first excursion of the year. Hastings is a small seaside town that is best known for the Battle of Hastings (1066). Even though the English often seem to forget this, the town has a lot of flair, as well as a breathtaking view of the nearby coastal cliffs. Obviously only “angels” have joined us on the trip – the weather stays consistently good.

Everyone enjoys the day; some are even brave enough to go into the rather cool water. In the evening, the “workshop show” takes place in the assembly hall. The activity team presents this year’s workshops in a most entertaining way. From photography to dance or American sports to English cooking, there is surely something for everyone; as in previous years, there will be a musical!
