Castles

Visiting a proper English castle is something you should not miss when on a trip to England. Nowhere else in the world can you find such impressive castles and palaces as they have in England. Which castles we visit varies from year to year and it also depends on the age group. We have listed our all-time “favourites” below:

Hever Castle

A beautiful moated castle in a classic English garden. The labyrinth, the water maze by the lake and the Knights’ tournaments in front of the castle melt even the most unromantic hearts.

Dover Castle

A huge castle on the coast of England. The castle is described as “the key to England” because of its defensive importance in the past. In the “secret wartime tunnels” you can discover the history of the English kingdom in an impressive manner.

Leeds

Leeds Castle

A moated castle located in the heart of the English county of Kent, which experts often call “The loveliest castle in the world”. Without a doubt, this is an absolute highlight of the British Isles.

Bodiam Castle

A castle ruin in very good condition, not far from Benenden. It is just the kind of castle that any child would imagine. A visit during the annual “medieval festival”, which includes jousting tournaments, sword fights and other exciting performances of English history, makes our Bodiam visit extraordinarily memorable.
